Water Projects

Boreholes and Wells

While surface and groundwater resources across the country of Nigeria provide enough drinking water to meet the needs of all Nigerians, inadequate infrastructure and poor sanitation facilities have led to a significant lack of access to clean water across the country. The Hope for West Africa Foundation works with West African Partners to address the water and sanitation needs of their programs and neighborhoods.
With significant support from the Church of the Nativity in Timonium Maryland, HFWA has assisted Anawim Home and Faith Alive-Nigeria in digging boreholes since 2010. To date, more than one dozen boreholes and wells have been dug, providing clean water and sanitation to hundreds of thousands of people.

Maintenance

Social support is only good as long as it lasts. HFWA works with Faith Alive-Nigeria and Anawim to ensure yearly maintenance for the existing boreholes, even while determining new steps forward.
